Maura has worked to lower health care costs for thousands of working families by expanding eligibility for affordable plans through ConnectorCare. Governor Healey is the first governor to cap health care deductibles and co-pays. Under her leadership, the Division of Insurance oversaw the distribution of $75.6 million in health insurance rebates back to families and small business owners. And she capped the cost of insulin and other drugs at $25.
When the Congress and the Trump administration caused the cost of health care to skyrocket under the Affordable Care Act, Massachusetts has provided the most support in the country to keep those costs down for families, seniors, and small business owners.
Maura also has continued to expand access and improve care for people in Massachusetts, including signing a maternal health bill to improve care for pregnant women, mothers and babies, making prenatal vitamins and breast cancer screenings free, and expanding benefits for veterans through the historic HERO Act.
