Register to Vote

The last day to register to vote before the General Election is Saturday, October 29. Register, update your address, or verify that you are registered here.

Vote by Mail

Vote by Mail applications will be mailed to every voter in Massachusetts. If you misplaced or did not receive your application, you can find it here.

Return this application to your town or city hall by mail, email, or fax by Tuesday, November 1, 2022 at 5PM, but you should return it as soon as possible to ensure there are no delays. Ideally, you should apply 2 to 3 weeks before Election Day.

Once you receive your ballot in the mail, fill it out and return it using one of the following methods:

  • Mail it back in the envelope provided – postage is prepaid
  • Hand deliver it to your local election office or drop boxes
  • Drop it off at an early voting location during early voting hours (this information will be available on your city or town’s website soon)

Reminder: Ballots cannot be dropped off at a polling place on Election Day. You will have to vote in person.

Your ballot must be received by your local election office by 8 p.m. on Election Day in order to be counted, so be sure to submit it as soon as possible.

Vote Early

You can vote early between Saturday, October 22 to Friday, November 4 at your local city or town hall. Some cities and towns will have additional locations for early voting, which will be available on their websites.
