Springfield Mayor, Chicopee Mayor, and local leaders host Governor Healey in support of reelection campaign

Springfield, MA  — Today, after attending the Democratic caucus in Springfield,  Governor Healey joined Springfield Mayor Domenic Sarno, Chicopee Mayor John Vieau, and other local leaders for a series of campaign stops in the region. Today’s events are the latest campaign stops in Team Healey-Driscoll’s weeks-long blitz across the state, visiting every corner of Massachusetts and sharing their vision for a more affordable Massachusetts.

First, the Governor spoke to attendees at the Springfield Democratic caucus to rally voters to elect Democrats up and down the ballot, and outline her plans to lower the cost of housing, energy, and health care.

Then, Governor Healey joined Mayor Sarno for an event at the Building Trades Union Hall, where they discussed the Governor’s investments in the Springfield community, how she is delivering for workers and labor, and her Affordability Agenda to cut costs on energy, housing, and health care.

Finally, the Governor joined Mayor Vieau at Goodworks Coffee House in Chicopee, where she received the endorsement of Mayor Vieau and local leaders

“We’re happy to welcome Governor Healey to Springfield,” said Mayor Domenic Sarno. “The Healey-Driscoll administration has kept cities like Springfield front-of-mind throughout their first term on Beacon Hill. Our city has taken great strides in economic development and growth these past few years, only possible thanks to amazing state partners like Governor Healey and Lieutenant Governor Driscoll.”

I look forward to working with local leadership in Western Mass to lower costs for Bay Staters and continue pursuing economic growth in our next term.”
