Boston, MA — Today, the Planned Parenthood Advocacy Fund of Massachusetts officially endorsed Governor Healey and Lieutenant Governor Driscoll for reelection.
In her first term, Governor Healey signed one of the strongest Shield Laws in the country to strengthen protections for patients and providers, prohibiting Massachusetts state or local authorities from cooperating with federal or out-of-state investigations into health care services that are legally protected in Massachusetts, including abortion care. In response to federal attacks on reproductive care, Governor Healey took immediate action, she stockpiled mifepristone and made over-the-counter contraception free, and signed an executive order protecting emergency abortion care. Governor Healey is the only candidate in this race who would staunchly defend Bay Staters’ right to reproductive health care.
