Today in Amesbury, MAGA Mike Minogue tried to roll out his so-called “blueprint” for Massachusetts. It offered no new ideas beyond his slim list of “issues” he had already posted on his website, and he once again failed to say a single thing he would do to protect people from the damage Donald Trump is doing to our state.
Among the issues that Minogue continues to side with Trump on include:
- Trump’s war that has raised the price of gas to over $4 a gallon.
- Trump’s tariffs that have raised the price of groceries, lumber, and everything else.
- The devastation Trump’s ICE has caused to Massachusetts families and communities.
- Trump’s abortion bans and attacks on reproductive freedom across the country.
Trump himself declared at the GOP midterm convention in Dallas last night, “I’m on the ballot,” and in Massachusetts, Mike Minogue is clearly his candidate.
Minogue has spent millions of dollars, and plans to spend millions (billions?) more, but no amount of money can hide the truth. The truth is:
- Minogue is a MAGA Megadonor: Mike Minogue donated over $1 million to Trump’s campaign, directly financing the extreme agenda hurting Massachusetts residents, and Minogue even hosted a high-dollar fundraiser for Trump’s running mate and right-hand man, JD Vance, just weeks before the 2024 election.
- Minogue is Pro-ICE: Minogue has pledged to cooperate with ICE to make our communities less safe if elected. He opposes protections for Massachusetts’ immigrant communities, and even downplayed ICE killings as “mistakes.”
- Minogue is Staunchly Anti-Abortion: Minogue is self-admittedly and proudly anti-abortion, and he supported Trump in the wake of his abortion bans that put 1 in 3 women in states where abortion is banned.
- Minogue Funds Organizations with Extreme Views: Minogue has bankrolled the far-right propaganda machine Prager U, which promotes sexist, homophobic, racist views, and has funded extreme anti-abortion groups like the Massachusetts Family Institute.
On Thursday, Governor Maura Healey spoke to reporters about the dangers of electing Mike Minogue in Massachusetts, and why his “blueprint” wouldn’t help Massachusetts:
“Donald Trump and I agree on one thing after last night – Donald Trump is on the ballot. Any blueprint Mike Minogue puts forward has to include an explanation for why he thinks Donald Trump is good for Massachusetts, and why he won’t stand up to the damage Trump is doing to Massachusetts families every day. He won’t call on Trump to end his war that is raising people’s gas and grocery bills. He won’t call on Trump to restore his trillion dollars in health care cuts so that people in Massachusetts don’t lose their care. He continues to support ICE that is terrorizing our communities and making us less safe. In this election, the choice is clear – you cannot stand with Donald Trump and be Governor of Massachusetts.”
