Plymouth, MA — Today, Lieutenant Governor Driscoll attended the Democratic committee caucuses in Plymouth and Barnstable to speak to community members about Team Healey-Driscoll’s work and priorities in their campaign before making a stop in Brockton, where Mayor Moises Rodrigues endorsed Governor Healey and Lieutenant Governor Driscoll for reelection.
At both meetings, attendees from across their respective communities joined the Lieutenant Governor to rally support for Democrats up and down the ballot.
“Our administration has focused on economic growth and development across Massachusetts, and we’ve made big investments in communities across the South Shore and Cape,” said Lieutenant Governor Driscoll following her caucus stops. “It was wonderful to connect with residents and hear how we can continue supporting their communities, and we are proud to have their support as we work to make Massachusetts the best state it can be.”
“In Brockton, we are working to promote unity and accountable leadership, and we can’t do it without the hard work of Governor Healey and Lieutenant Governor Driscoll,” said Mayor Moises Rodrigues. “Their work to deliver immediate relief on utilities for our residents, stand up against SNAP cuts to feed families, and make investments in our schools and infrastructure has been a huge help for our city, and that’s why I’m proud to endorse them for reelection.”
“Having served as a mayor for nearly two decades, I know how important strong partnerships between the state and local leaders are to our Commonwealth’s success. That’s why earning support from Mayor Rodrigues is so meaningful to us,” said Lieutenant Governor Driscoll during her stop in Brockton. “Maura and I are committed to improving the well-being of all Bay Staters, and together, we’re focused on delivering real progress on housing, education, and growing local economies so families and businesses can thrive.”
The full list of endorsers from the stop includes Mayor Moises Rodrigues, State Senator Michael D. Brady, State Representatives Michelle M. DuBois and Rita A. Mendes, City Councilors At-Large David C. Teixeira and Jeff Charnel, and Ward 7 Councilor Shirley Asack.
During their first term, the Healey-Driscoll administration invested in Plymouth Town Wharf to strengthen waterfront infrastructure vital to Plymouth and the entire state. Additionally, they invested over a million dollars through the state’s Cranberry Bog Acquisition for Restoration program to help Plymouth transform the land into the Cotton Brook Preserve, which will be fit for recreation and beneficial to the ecosystem in the city. The Healey-Driscoll administration also prioritized infrastructure development throughout Barnstable, including the redevelopment of downtown Hyannis.
In Brockton, they made major investments, securing over $40 million for housing projects, including the 29-unit Roadway Apartments II for the formerly homeless, and organized the 2025 Commonwealth Project Safe Neighborhood (PSN) Initiative roundtable in Brockton, aimed at promoting collaborative efforts between law enforcement and community partners to keep illegal firearms and narcotics out of Massachusetts.
