Governor Healey and Lieutenant Governor Driscoll Make Stops in Leominster, Framingham, Fall River, and Plymouth on First Day of General Election Campaign

Governor Healey and Lieutenant Governor Driscoll visited veterans in Leominster and met human services providers in Framingham before traveling to the southeast to focus on affordability at stops in Fall River and Plymouth.

Fall River, MA — Yesterday, in their first stops of the general election campaign, Governor Maura Healey and Lieutenant Governor Kim Driscoll traveled across Central and Southeastern Massachusetts to connect with veterans, human service providers, and local supporters.

In Fall River, Governor Healey and Lieutenant Governor Driscoll joined local leaders and residents at the Veterans Association of Bristol County in Fall River, touring the facility before talking to veterans and voters.

After sitting down for an interview with WATD, Governor Healey headlined an event with local elected officials, addressing a large crowd in Plymouth. At both stops on the South Coast, Governor Healey stressed the importance of this election and how the Healey-Driscoll administration is lowering costs for working families, building up our economy, creating new opportunities, protecting people’s rights, and standing up to Trump.

“Kim and I stand with the people of Massachusetts,” said Governor Maura Healey in Fall River. “We’re here to make life easier, more affordable … That’s the bottom line. We know that we’re a state that understands how to fight, be resilient, and take care of one another. Just remember who we are, and that’s why we have to show up in November.”

“At a moment when fear and division are being weaponized across this country, Massachusetts must remain the beacon that lights the way forward,” said Lieutenant Governor Kim Driscoll. “But to do that we need to work together and win this fight. Because here in Massachusetts, we’re ready to fight for our future.”

Prior to their stops in the Southeast, Governor Healey and Lieutenant Governor Driscoll held a roundtable with veterans at the Veteran Pathways of New England campus in Leominster alongside Senator John Cronin to honor their service and discuss how the state can improve their lives and wellbeing.

The Governor and Lieutenant Governor also met with human services providers in Framingham. The discussion focused on how Massachusetts and providers can work together to better serve vulnerable populations, including seniors, those with disabilities, and those suffering from addiction, highlighting the administration’s commitment to ensuring support and resources for all residents.
